Bonnie Suiter (Rose) VIEW PROFILE

Bonnie Lee Rose Pocomoke City-Bonnie Lee Rose passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2016 surrounded by her loving family Bonnie was born in Moline, Illinois on November 21, 1940 to Frank Howard and Nona Louise Suiter. She graduated from Moline High School in 1958 and from the St. Luke's Hospital Nursing School, Davenport, Iowa in 1961. While pursuing her nursing degree, Bonnie met her wonderful husband, Robert Dean Rose, and they married September 2, 1961 in Moline, IL. They started their life together in Iowa City, IA where Bonnie worked at the University of Iowa Hospital while Bob finished college. After Bob graduated from college, Bob and Bonnie moved to Cedar Rapids, IA where they raised three beautiful children; Robert Alan, David Keith and Jennifer Lynn. Bonnie stayed at home to care for her children for 13 years. As the children grew, Bonnie returned to nursing and worked for Dr. Utter until 1988 when they relocated to Maryland. Bob and Bonnie moved to Pocomoke City, Maryland, in 1990 and she returned to nursing, working for Drs. Shoemaker, Baral and Satyal. Bonnie fully retired in 2012. As much as she loved helping people, she loved nothing more than her family. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals and making sure each dinner guest had enough to eat which included finishing each meal with an incredible dessert. She was well known for her "Christmas cookies," cookie trays, caramel rolls and so much more. There was never a day that Bonnie didn't show her love to her family. Grandma, as she loved being called, enjoyed spending every minute with her grandkids. She attended all the local school programs, sporting events and family events throughout the years. In 2012, her daughter surprised Bonnie and Bob with a 50th wedding anniversary surprise vacation in North Carolina. She talked about the surprise for years, especially how family travelled from across the United States just for them. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Bob, her sons, Bob (Cheryl) of Midland, Michigan, Dave (Rachel) of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, daughter Jen (Chris) Baumann of Snow Hill, Maryland, nine grandchildren; Jessica and Bobby Rose of Midland, Michigan; Katie (Mike) Flanigan of Independence, Iowa; Matt and Megan Rose of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mandi German of Lakewood Ranch and Katie, Chris and Maddy Baumann of Snow Hill, Maryland. She's also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Nona Suiter, brother, Frances "Pete" Suiter, in-laws, aunts and uncles. In celebration of her life, a service will be held at Holloway Funeral Home, Pocomoke City, MD on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 2 PM where family and friends will gather 1 hour prior to the service. Pastor Brian Albert will officiate. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Cemetery.
