Don was a friend for nearly my entire life -- the last time I actually saw him was about 15 years ago.   We visited in California, in Moline, Chicago, and talked on the phone at least a few times a year.  I met his wife and daughter, as they came to visit when our kids were little.  He was a very big part of my growing up.  LOVED dancing with him, riding in his hot rods, and going to the drag strip to watch him as the starter there, going to the drive-in movies.  He worked for a juke box company in Moline during HS, and he would bring me all the old 45's -- stacks and stacks of them.  His folks and my folks also were acquainted and were at each other's houses during that time.  We both lived by Wharten Field House, and I could always hear his black Chevy with red rims coming to visit.

The last time I spoke with him was before he retired from Pratt Whitney, and he was in AZ.  After searching for him on the class website, I was just shocked to see that he had died.  He was very special to me.

I'm so sorry that he's gone and that I won't see him again.
