Jack Griffin

Jackie ``Jack'' W. Griffin, 59, Springfield, Ohio, formerly of East Moline, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, after an auto accident in Springfield.
The body was cremated. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Springfield. His cremains will be scattered at Bristol Motor Speedway, Bristol, Tenn., Eldora (Ohio) Speedway, and Cedar Lake Speedway, New Richmond, Wis.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 2 at Union Congregational Church, 1811 53rd St., Moline. Memorials may be left at the church for the family.
Jack was born on Aug. 26, 1940, the son of Joe and Frances (Dopler) Griffin. He married Judy Guss on Sept. 3, 1966.
He was employed at the former Farmall Plant, Rock Island, and Navistar in Springfield. He had 42 years of combined service, last working Aug. 22, 2000.
He was a member of union Local 658.
He loved his family and spending time with them. He was an avid NASCAR race fan. He belonged to several clubs and organizations.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; sons Tim and Tom Griffin, daughters (and spouse) Theresa (Steve) Arnold and Melissa Griffin, grandchildren Shaun, Allison, Stephen, Brittany and Ty, and three stepgrandchildren, all of Springfield; brothers (and spouses) Harley (Sandy) Griffin, East Moline, John (Gail) Griffin, Geneseo, Dave Griffin, Carbon Cliff, Rodney Griffin, East Moline, Doug (Terri) Griffin, Liberty, Mo., and Louis Griffin, Hillsboro, Ill.; sisters and spouses Bonnie (Ron) Farren and Rhonda (Robert) Miller, all of Davenport, Bev (Richard) Kiehna and Darlene (Earl Harrison) Beal, all of Monmouth; a brother-in-law, Rudy Mayer, Milan; and several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, his mother and a sister, MaryKaye Mayer, Milan.
