Marlene Forrest (Fackeldey)

Marlene J. Fackeldey, 68, of Moline, died Saturday, Aug, 16, 2008, at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug, 22, at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.

Marlene was born April 22, 1940, in Moline, the daughter of Armond and Marjorie Rexroade Forest. She married Richard L. Cullen in 1958. He preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1968, during the Vietnam War. She later married Anthony "Tony" J. Fackeldey on Dec. 15, 1968, in East Moline. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2006. He was her true soul mate in life and death.

Marlene was employed as an assembler/material handler for John Deere, Moline, and also worked in field maintenance for SouthPark Mall until her retirement in 1998. She was a member of the Svithiod Club of Moline. Marlene enjoyed camping at Shady Lakes, fishing and playing bingo.

Survivors include her children, Randy (Diana) Cullen, Washington, Buddy Cullen, Moline; stepdaughter, Kellyne Goetz, California; grandchildren, Crystal Cullen, Washington, Jesse Cullen, Washington, Porschia Cullen, Moline, Presley Cullen, Moline, Amber (Jeff) Goetz, California, Holly (Dave) Goetz, California, Summer Goetz, California, Kayla Goetz, California; great-grandchild, Logan Tyler; sisters, Jan Goodman, Moline, Sharon (Don) Sweeney, East Moline; brother, Bill Leuntjens, Moline; several nieces and nephews; and her cat, Missy D. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Forest; three children; and two spouses.
