Cheering Quintet Is Full of Experience

Rah, Rah -- Rah. Rah, Rah; One for each of our five new cheerleaders, Julie, Luanne, Mary, Bev, and Nonie. And if you don't know who these vivacious and enthusiastic lassies are,  just go to the next football game and watch them perform their rhymic routines.  Every year representatives of the cheerleading squad attend several workshops held in different sections of the state. The girls learn new cheers and cheering methods as well as gain many new friends.

Julie Bennett is a firm believer in the old axiom “Practice makes perfect," as she has been leading her classmates in cheering since she was in fifth grade. Her contagious smile convinces all who watch her that she loves every minute of her new responsibility, but she still has interest in other school activities, Y-Teens and GAA being next in appeal.

Luanne Panicucci began her cheering career while still in grade school. She can be easily identified as the only brunette in a five-some of blondes. Characteristic of most girls who are chosen as "leaders" by their classmates,  Luanne is active in other affairs such as the Rec committee and sports of GAA.

It looks as it Mary Murphy will have to be several places at once this year because of her heavy load of school jobs. She is sports editor of the M, bowling manager of GAA, secretary of Student Congress and a member of FNA.  But if you know Mary you can be sure that she'll manage to be on hand.

Bev Vincent didn't acquire all that finesse as a cheerleader in “one easy lesson" either for she has been on the field the floor ever since she was in junior high. Her classmates choose her as their vice-president last year, and now she is a Student Congress representative as well as sophomore class editor at the M.

That cute little gal who can do all the fancy tricks at the-games is Nonie Moorhusen, the only member of the squad from the junior class. Nonie has been leading the fans for six years. She also is vice-president of her class and is active in Fine Arts club, GAA, and Y-Teens.

Yes, I've scanned the Line O'Type  articles and pictures posted here.  Dick Marsho gets the credit for saving our senior year L O'T issues and did the favor (?) of passing them to me.   The scans will be of activities during the year in which our '58 classmates were involved.  There were 2 issues per month, Sept.-May.  We are downsizing, anticipating a move to a smaller place by 2015.  When I'm done scanning, I cannot keep the papers.  Does anyone want them?  Do you want one issue or another?  Speak up and we'll arrange to pass them on.       Sue Olson Wakefield
